Founder and Managing Partner
With over 20 years of investing and advisory, Uche oversees advisory, institutional relationships, and the investment strategy of the company.
Prior to AG Rhino, Uche co-founded Almat Group, LLC a real estate development and investing company in New York. To date, Almat has developed in excess of USD $100m of real assets. Prior to Almat, Uche held positions at Deloitte Consulting, Bank of New York and American Insurance Group.
He is an associate fellow of the Nigerian Leadership Institute and serves as a director on the boards of Sparkle Microfinance Bank and Staco Insurance Company.
Uche holds a MBA from Columbia Business School.
Managing Partner
Fred has more than 20 years of experience as an investor and advisor across developed and emerging markets.
Prior to AG Rhino, Fred held various senior leadership roles at global investment and private equity firms including Temasek, Standard Chartered Private Equity (now Affirma Capital), Credit Suisse, and Duet Group.
He is a seasoned investor, advisor, and business builder who has invested more than USD$ 500m in growth capital across emerging markets and has advised on more than USD$ 20bn of strategic transactions in both developed and emerging markets.
He has successfully invested and managed through all economic, political, and financial cycles. As an advisor to global corporates and families, Fred has focused on being an ethical steward of capital and a trusted advisor.
Fred is a graduate of Columbia Business School, New York.
Principal
Jonathan has spent his entire career working with African businesses. He joined AG Rhino as a consultant in 2017. As an investor, he covered African public equities at two hedge funds and has assisted in private equity transactions from Tanzania to Nigeria.
As a risk consultant with Eurasia Group, he helped multinational companies navigate political and regulatory environments across sub-Saharan Africa.
Jonathan gained operational experience working for Jumia Group in Zambia and launching a non-profit company in Ghana.
Jonathan holds an AB in Economics and Political Science from Bowdoin College and an MBA from Columbia University, New York.
